Spring 2010 has been cool and wet. We had an average bloom rate in May, but extraodinary rainfall. The average rainfall for May is 60mm, we've had 160mm. We haven't been able to get into the Saskatoon field as much as usual due to wet conditions. The mosquito population is very high and they are very friendly.
We will update the answering machine message when we are able to guesstimate a start for the 2010 Saskatoon picking season. Depending on daily temperatures and further rainfall it could be as early as July 7 or as late as July 21. Depending on the weather!
The answering machine will be updated as conditions change until the picking is finished. The answering machine will always have the most up to date information.
The U-Pick will be operated as a Self-Serve honour system for the most part this summer. Bring exact change, park on the grass, and check in at the gazebo for detailed picking information.
Further down this page is information on:
2010 Saskatoon prices are $10.00 per 4-litre pail (Ice cream pail).
Bring exact change, in cash.
If you don't have a pail, you may purchase one from us for $1.00.
Daily: 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Note: Farm hours may change for several reasons as the picking season progresses. There may have been a severe weather event, sudden illness or injury, a plethora of enthusiastic pickers, or some other event causing us to temporarily suspend operations.
Always call the farm immediately before you head out!

Our fruit price is based on 4-litre pail units (ice-cream pails). If you don't have a 4-litre pail, we will sell you a pail for one dollar.
However, you don't need pails of your own to pick fruit. You may use one of our pails for picking and check-out. To transport your fruit home, you can pour the fruit into whatever container you like.
See the Picking Information page for more details on the picking season and our farm amenities.
We have seen a variety of containers used by customers to take their fruit home. The most unique (and smart!) idea was medium sized coolers. Use your imagination to re-purpose whatever containers you already own.

We are unable to offer pre-picked fruit in 2010
We anticipate our next website update when picking begins.
